Doreen Cummings, Creator

Meet Doreen Cummings, the creator behind this exciting

children's book series! Doreen Cummings is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community identifying as trans-masc.

A native of Greater Boston and a graduate of Wheaton College, they have always been a passionate creator, writer and storyteller. From songwriting and musical arrangement to rhyming, Doreen's love for creative expression has shaped their life.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Doreen noticed a lack of children's books featuring characters grappling with gender identity.

As a debut author, they are dedicated to enriching children's literature by introducing more LGBTQ+ youth characters.

This mission is deeply personal to Doreen, who believes these characters can provide crucial representation and support for young readers facing similar journeys.

"Writing this book series is a dream come true for me," Doreen shares. "Having books that explore gender differences would have made a significant impact on my own journey as a youth."

Doreen's goal extends beyond storytelling; they aim to collaborate with schools and youth organizations to support transgender and LGBTQ+ youth. By amplifying their voices and experiences through literature, Doreen hopes to foster understanding and acceptance among young readers everywhere.
